About this work

Stoneware storage jug on a wavy foot with an egg-shaped body and a wide neck with a pinched spout. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. Profiles on the neck and shoulder. Covered with a brown engobe. The jug is decorated with turning rings. On the neck in relief a printed and applied medallion with a coat of arms and the border inscription 'I.WILHELMVS.VO.REIFENBERG M.I.ANNA VOM BATEMBORG.1604'. The belly with three smaller medallions with a lion, the mark 'W.E.' and the date '1600'. On the neck and shoulder bands with engraved wavy lines. Langerwehe.
