About this work

She stands on a rectangular base with her right leg forward and head slightly turned to the right. On her right arm, over which the skirt is drawn up, she holds a small dog with both hands. Her hairstyle consists of hair parted at the forehead, drawn tightly from the middle of the head to the side and back, falling in ringlets onto the shoulder and back. On her head is a V-shaped hairpin (?) with a jewel at the front. Over a gown hanging to the ground and the tip of the right shoe, she wears a bodice consisting of a wide skirt pinned at the back and a pointed, tapering corset with short puffed sleeves and a turned-down ermine collar, upon which is a brooch. A scarf has slipped from her shoulders, draping over her back and arms, with the ends fluttering backward.
