About this work
The object is composed of the following cast and engraved parts: the base, the two wings, the two young ones. The base is ornamented on the front and back. The pelican holds its wings spread and pecks at its breast. The young ones, also flapping their wings, hold their heads directed towards the pelican's breast. Image of a pelican. Refers to a group of pelican with two young ones, see also BK-NM-9443-a, b and c. The group symbolizes the Christian faith.
