About this work
Porcelain jardinière, painted on the glaze in enamel colors and gold. The outer wall is covered in blue with two large, richly decorated panels carved out, each containing two putti on a cloud or flower branches. The pot is mounted in an elaborate gilded metal frame. The foot is in the form of two antique figures with a wreath of grapevines and kneeling on leafy vines, carrying the pot above their heads. The rim is also mounted with scrollwork, grapevines, and two fauns as handles. Imitation Sèvres.
