About this work

Folding fan with unadorned double leaf of black moiré silk on an openwork and relief-carved mount of black lacquered wood. The mount has 18 ribs with a carved flower motif. The disc at the pivot pin is of black mother-of-pearl, to which a black metal fan ring and a black tassel are attached.
