Bronze medal, obverse: the SS Rotterdam sailing to the left under a decorated border with coats of arms, with a band at the bottom with four lines of text upon which a crowned oval coat of arms of the Netherlands is held by a merman and mermaid, with spandrel text; reverse: the canal full of ships under a radiant cloud upon which a hand with palm branch, a ribbon with flags, and a crowned coat of arms, with a band at the bottom upon which two cartouches and a map.
