About this work
Silver medal. Obverse: coat of arms of the Hague Civic Guard, below that that of 's Gravenhage, further a trophy of weapons and flags. Behind it a Maypole with wreaths, a flag and a pennant. Legend: AVSPICIIS MALAE LAETIS REDIERE CALENDAE (The first of May has returned under happy omens). At the bottom: HOLTZHEY. Reverse: ring of six coats of arms that were hung on the Maypole. In the field the inscription: SVMMA/ SIMILES/ VIRTUTE/ FIDEQVE (Equal through the highest virtue and loyalty)/ MDCCXXXVII.
