About this work
Simon Stevin's sailing wagon, 1602. Prince Maurice, together with a group of friends, made a trip along the beach from Scheveningen to Petten in the sailing wagon built by Simon Stevin, April-May 1602. On the left, a small sailing wagon, probably a prototype, with several people on board. On the beach, various elegant spectators and some fishermen. Taken from a double-page spread in Blaeu's Stedenboek, printed on both sides with text in Dutch.
