About this work

Simon Stevin's Sailing Wagon, 1602. Prince Maurice makes a trip with a group of friends along the beach from Scheveningen to Petten in the sailing wagon built by Simon Stevin, April-May 1602. To the left a small sailing wagon, probably a prototype, with several people on board. On the beach various elegant spectators and some fishermen. Taken from a double page in the Stedenboek of Blaeu, printed on both sides with text in Latin.
