About this work

Five medallions with scenes from the tragedy Gijsbrecht van Aemstel written by Joost van den Vondel and performed in the new Schouwburg on the Leidsplein in Amsterdam. Four smaller medallions are grouped around the centrally placed medallion. The medallions are numbered I to V and connected by ribbons. Subject headings within the Atlas Zeden en Gewoonten: Fine Arts, Theatre, Scenery for the Schouwburg.
