About this work

Monument for Diderik Munter, burgomaster of Amsterdam, who died on 2 January 1701. On a stone sarcophagus stand a portrait bust and a stone needle bearing the coat of arms of Munter. At the four corners stand Justice, Prudence, Strength and Temperance. On the sarcophagus an inscription and the coat of arms of Amsterdam. Subject headings within the Atlas Zeden en Gewoonten: The Beginning, Middle and End of Man. Funerals, funeral songs, epitaphs, pamphlets.
