About this work

Fair print on behalf of the newspaper distributors (courier carriers) in Amsterdam, September 11, 1865. At the top two vignettes with illustrations taken from books, left the story of the miller in the ring (1645), right a marriage proposal on the island of Rottum. At the bottom a poem in three columns. From the newspaper distributor: J.J. Smit. Subject headings within the Atlas Zeden en Gewoonten: Customs and habits in a narrower sense, Folk life, Folk publications, New Year's and Christmas greetings, Amsterdam.
