About this work

Allegorical monument for Prince Willem V, died 9 April 1806. At the prince's tomb, Historia writes history. A genius with a lyre in hand inspires her. Bottom left a portrait of the prince in three-quarter view to the right, with a Bible and a map. The print includes a sheet with an explanation.
