About this work

An interior with various officers. On the right, a man sits at a writing desk; on the left, a man is tending the fire in the open hearth; in the middle, three gentlemen are looking at a map. Above the fireplace, a coat of arms, and above that, a portrait of a man in profile surrounded by a laurel wreath. At the bottom in the margin, the coat of arms and an inscription to Dionys Muilman, who had the original painting in his collection.
