About this work

Under the command of Captain Abraham Scheerenberg, Orangist rioters led by Daniël Raap are driven out of the town hall and the Dam on November 9, 1747. In the occupied town hall, a demonstrator throws a rage-bolt from the window, a mocking reference to the rod carried by the sheriff. In the center the New Church and to the right part of the Waag.
