About this work

Satirical print on the sending of the Dutch fleet to Morocco in 1895. As reprisal for the attack by Moroccan pirates on the Dutch ship Anna in April 1895, the government sent a squadron of warships that remained off the coast of Tangier. Panic and despair reign in the sultan's palace. At the bottom, a four-line verse. Appeared in the supplement of 'De Kroniek' of June 9, 1895.
