About this work
Issue of the satirical magazine De Notenkraker of 5 January 1907, first year, number 1. Cover with an illustration in which a politician is crushed between the jaws of the nutcracker, a huge head with a Phrygian cap (symbol of freedom). Part of a complete first year (1907). Each issue contains 8 pages, partly not yet cut out, with a caricature by Albert Hahn on the front and Hahn's prints interspersed with the text on the remaining pages. In the letter 'D' of the title is a head of a so-called nutcracker.
