About this work

Satirical cartoon on the Italian losses in the Battle of Adowa on 1 March 1896 during the war with Ethiopia (Abyssinia). In the center, the Italian King Umberto I almost loses his crown in the wind; on the right, the defeated Italian Prime Minister Francesco Crispi lies on the ground. In the clouds on the left, the victorious Ethiopian Negus.
