About this work
Plate from the VOC ship 'Witte Leeuw', 98% present: part of the rim has been restored with plaster. The base is glazed and baked-on sand was found. The glaze is bluish and has pinholes and small firing cracks. There is much embedded dirt. The base is glazed and the footring is faceted. Little oven sand was found. The interior base is decorated with a rosette surrounded by four curls. The interior wall is decorated with continuous flower stems.
