About this work

Fragment of a plate from the VOC ship 'Witte Leeuw', 50% present. The sherd is glassy white and contains little embedded dirt. The glaze is blue-tinted and flakes off over parts of the rim. The base is unglazed. The footring is straight, faceted, and curves inward. The rim is scalloped. Lamp plate. Eight fragments glued together.
