About this work
Plate from the VOC ship 'Witte Leeuw', 40% present; parts of the center and wall are missing. The sherd is glassy white and contains little embedded dirt. The glaze is blue-tinted and shows pinholes and small firing cracks at the corners of the rim. The base is glazed. The footring curves inward, is V-shaped, and faceted. More than 20 grains of kiln sand were found. Consists of ten fragments glued together.
