About this work

From the VOC ship 'Witte Leeuw', 95% present. A Klapmuts bowl with a scalloped lip, decorated in underglaze blue. In the center a rooster in a water landscape with blooming chrysanthemums and bamboo plants. On the wall four lobed fields with symbols of luck and fruits; on the rim geometric motifs with four fields containing fruits.
