About this work
In the foreground, a polar bear standing on its hind legs, fighting with three crew members, two armed with halberds and one with a musket. In the background, two polar bears near a barrel of salted meat, and crew members with sleds hauling wood for the construction of the house. On the right, the stranded ship.
