About this work
Behind two tables on a veranda four Chinese women are busy cutting (chopping) the tea. Further on the veranda a child and a woman with a flat basket with tea. In front of the building two seated figures, also busy with tea. Part of a group of four gouaches on the production and export of Chinese tea by the VOC around 1750.
