About this work

The celebration of the Tadja festival or tajiya-festival by the Hindustani Muslims among the British Indian immigrants. Part of the photo album Souvenir de Voyage (part 3), depicting the life of the Dooyer family in and around the plantation Ma Retraite in Suriname in the years 1906-1913.
