Contract laborers from British India, at the entrance to the so-called 'coolie depot', the central collection point for immigrants in Paramaribo. Part of the photo album Souvenir de Voyage (part 5), about the life of the Doijer family in and around the plantation Ma Retraite in Suriname in the years 1903-1910.
