Outdoors, a man lies on his right side on a stone bench or pavement with his knees drawn up. His hip-cloth (veshti, lungi) wrapped in the Ceylonese style is pulled up above the knees. Above this he wears a broad waistband. A short sword (kastane) hangs from his left hip. The carrying strap is not visible among the folds. He wears no cap; he has thick short hair and a short beard.
