Flintlock pistol with ivory drawer

Part of a pair. The lock is engraved with floral vines and a signature. The barrel is engraved in bas-relief with leafy vines and grotesque masks and a bird on a branch; a ring runs around the muzzle, marked underneath with C.MIL. The solid ivory stock has simple carving; between the grip and the butt knob are three bands of ivory and ebony; the butt knob is carved all around as a man's head with a mustache and a helmet with a visor raised at the front, a similar visor at the back, and grotesque heads on the sides; the eyes are inlaid with ebony. The iron furniture includes, among other things, a bracket-shaped screw plate whose rear part is engraved as a snake.
