Flintlock pistol with ivory drawer

Part of a pair. The lock is pierced and chased; the lockplate is engraved with leafy vines and a winged female figure forming a cartouche for a signature; on the rear is MAESTRICHT. The barrel is engraved with foliage; on the muzzle rim stands a crowned rosette flanked by the letters I and R. The solid ivory stock is carved in relief with grotesque animal masks and foliage; the grip is engraved with acanthus leaves and ends after a band of brass in a separately attached butt knob carved all around as the head of a Classical warrior with a helmet with a plume, grotesque faces, and a dragon on top. The furniture is partly of gilded iron and partly of gilded brass and includes, among other things, a screw plate with leafy vines around reclining female nudes and dragons.
