About this work

Black flag with an eccentric white rectangle on the breeches side, with the coats of arms of Gerrit de Graeff, and Christina van Herzeele, brought together under a helmet in blue with ochre against red foliage. Above it a crown with five points: three with fleurons, two with pearls, alternating, and above the middle one an upright trowel with ochre-colored stem and blue scoop. On either side of the coats of arms a swan that sticks its head into the red foliage. All this stands on an asymmetric foot with foliage. Below it a scroll in gold, on which in black classical capitals: MORS, SCEPTRA, LIGONIBUS, AEQUAT. Along the breeches a band of truncated triangles in black and white. At the top and bottom black-white fringe. Eight sets of renewed ribbons on the breeches.
