About this work

Box covered in dark red leather, to be closed with two locks. The inside of the lid is lined with white velvet and the inside of the box has a deep red velvet raised section. Loose in the box a visiting card printed 'S. Edward Peal / Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia / The Hague' and typed 'In the name and on instruction of the President of the Republic of Liberia'.
