About this work
A separate figure from a diorama by Gerrit Schouten, depicting a Creole man, standing turned to the left with his left hand on his hip. The man wears a blue-and-white striped garment with a white and red border at the bottom. Over his left shoulder he wears a blue cloth decorated with white motifs, as well as a plain dark shawl with a red border. Around his waist he wears a white sash. The man is barefoot.
