About this work

Photo album in a binding covered with fabric in brown and orange with a closure strap. Compiled by a member of a Flak Regiment of the Luftverteidigungskommando of the Luftwaffe. Wachtmeister Hans Heinemann (see photos of the compiler on pages 1 and 8). The album contains 24 sheets of brown paper with a total of 148 photos, a newspaper clipping and a theatre programme. The photos mainly show images of the destroyed Rotterdam, burning oil tanks and damaged ships. Also photos of the position near the coast where Heinemann was stationed. Many of the photos have inscriptions. The album includes 6 documents relating to leave and travel of Heinemann back to Germany in January-March 1945 and two newspaper clippings.
