About this work

Photo album in a green cover with angels and flowers, and the word "Album" printed in gold on the front. The interior consists of 76 sheets of thick cardboard on which 258 photos are pasted. The focus of the album is on Suriname. It contains various photos of plantations, mostly taken by Andries Boom himself, as well as city views of Paramaribo, the Lawa railway line, and the botanical garden. Most photos have inscriptions and dates. Photos of Curaçao (Willemstad, the interior, and Mal Pays plantation), Haiti, Guatemala, and Costa Rica are also included, as well as photos of excursions in Europe, Berlin, Vitznau, Valencia, friends in the Dutch East Indies and the Netherlands.
