About this work
Adam and Eve stand before the tree of knowledge in paradise. Eve has just received the apple from the serpent. On the ground before Adam and Eve are a dog and a hedgehog. In the background a stag and a lion. In the lower margin a two-line Latin text. Mirror-image copy after an engraving by Hendrick Goltzius from 1585. Reconstructed from two fragments.
