About this work

Pyramus and Thisbe in a landscape with a fountain. Thisbe discovers her dying beloved Pyramus, whereupon she commits suicide with his sword. Pyramus has stabbed himself, thinking that Thisbe had been killed by a lion. In the background the lion runs. In the lower margin a Latin text. Reconstructed from two fragments.
