About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) to his mouth and blowing over the pan (the powder reservoir). In his left hand, besides the musket, a lit match. In his right hand, a powder flask. This print is part of the series of 42 hand-numbered prints of musketeers in the Wapenhandelinghe.
