About this work
A soldier, full-length, carrying a spear (lance) above his right shoulder, the point directed diagonally downward. His hands far apart around the spear. This is the first movement for lowering the spear to pass under an overhang. This print is part of the series of 32 hand-numbered prints of spear carriers in the Wapenhandelinghe.
