About this work

Covered goblet consisting of the engraved cup on faceted stem with four such knobs on equally faceted foot and a vaulted/dome-shaped lid with faceted knob. The radial engraving around the cup shows two VOC ships lying in the roadstead of Cape Town, which on the mirror show the names: 'Beekvliet' and 'Bvkpolder' (='Bovenkerkerpolder').
