Coat belonging to the gala uniform of A.L. de Bruyn Kops, Chief Engineer of Water Management. Made of deep dark blue wool with a standing collar, embroidered in gold thread with laurel branches and a chain of pearls. Front closure with nine fire-gilded metal buttons, each featuring a crowned standing lion with sword and bundle of arrows in its claws. Surrounding the buttons a scroll with the text: ingenieur van den waterstaat. On the back buttons: A.A. Knuijver, 's-Gravenhage. On one button a label with ng 544 ing waterstaat Bruin Kops. Back: two embroidered flaps with matching embroidery and eight matching buttons. Back: two panels, one of which is missing a button. Lining of white and black silk; under the collar a purple label, yellow-edged with yellow text: Pierre Caron fils la Haye.
