About this work
Mold for testing the piercing of percussion caps. It consists of a bell-shaped solid copper body through which an iron tube runs from top to bottom; a pin is attached to this tube, upon which the percussion cap is placed. A similarly bell-shaped lid with a ribbed edge at the top is screwed over the whole; its internal shape fits precisely around the edge of the percussion cap. The mold is equipped with a copper percussion cap.
