Model of a Topsail

Model of a course sail on a yard. The sail has fourteen cloth panels above and twenty below, cross-bands, three reefs, two pop-strops, bowline sprouts and tacks, reinforced with leather. The starboard tack consists of an eye with a grommet, which on the port side consists of a brass ring connecting the ends of the halyards, each provided with an eye and a grommet. The reefs consist of reef lines instead of reef seizings: the reef lines are ropes running over the reef bands, which are sewn at the reef points; by this rope, reef blocks are pulled, which are attached to a metal rod on the yard.
