About this work
Exploding bullet, incomplete. It has a cylindrical body of brass, into which a movable chimney is screwed at the more or less pointed top. A percussion cap must be placed on the chimney, which strikes a crossbar inside the body when the tip hits an object. The charge of the bullet must be inserted through the underside; the closing cap for this is missing. Around the outside of the bullet runs a lead ring of rifling, to make the bullet suitable for rifled artillery.
