About this work
Two samples of telegraph cable for sea mines, each with brass rings at the ends. Both are stranded with a core of seven copper wires in a thick insulating layer of black plastic. The outer sheath of the thicker cable consists of cable strands of seven yarns. The 'break' (?) consists of a tube with two pear-shaped brass plates at the ends, one of which has a hole for a key.
