About this work

Box with eleven specimens of iron wire for standing-want, all strand-laid with six cable-laid strands around a seventh, all strands and the core consisting of seven yarns. They are each tied with rope and yellow paper at the ends and all carry a parchment label with inscription and a specimen of the yarn from which they are composed. The label on the smallest specimen also carries the instruction to let it expire.
