About this work

Trictrac board of tropical wood (ambon soetra?) with walls of coromandel wood, in the form of a square hinged box, both halves inlaid on the inside with a total of 24 pointed playing fields, alternating between coromandel wood and a light wood, framed by reeding. Between the opposing fields, two stylized lilies. Brass fittings. 14 light and 14 dark discs, an old and a new leather cup, and a die (originally two, one is now missing). Dutch East Indies, 18th century (?).
