About this work
Round mast of an inland waterway vessel, with topmast and fittings. The mast itself consists of six parts: the mast cap has thick cheeks on the sides and rear, connected internally with welds, and two thin cheeks on the front extending to three-quarters of the length. The parts are held together by mast hoops. The mast cap pieces have two small ears for the shrouds; above this the mast is round again and has a large and four small eyes on the rear, and a disc in the top; the very top is square and part of a topmast is suspended in two topmast stays.
