Half Model of a 74-Gun Ship of the Line

Fully planked and polychromed mould model (starboard side) of a three-master. Forty-six gunports distributed over three decks. The figurehead is a crowned man with a scepter in his right hand and a bundle of flames in his raised left hand, standing on a bird. On the crane beam a lion's head. Round stern with a two-deck stern gallery, elaborately decorated, with a semi-circular gallery in the middle. The gangway on the upper deck, which runs around the gallery, is supported by decorated knees. The fortification above the gallery is damaged. Below the gallery the hawsehole: straight rudder with square rudder trunk. The sheer rises slightly at both ends, two mizzen knees and one fore knee. The underwater hull is fairly flat, but sharply cut away aft. Scale 1:50 (scale on model).
