About this work
Model of a compound tripod: the mechanism consists of a crank with a screw without end, which drives the windlass. The tackle goes from the axle through a sheave in the top to the heavy block to which a lead weight hangs, and back to the top. One of the rear legs is provided with offset knees, probably footrests for climbing the tripod.
