Two Models of a Chain Stopper

Two identical models of a chain stopper between two decks, consisting of a chute for the chain on a pulley and running through the starboard-side chain locker, and a heavy devil's claw hanging from a pulley on the ship's side; the claw is composed like a pair of scissors with a screw with two threads through the legs, with which the distance between the legs can be adjusted. A bracket over the chain secures the claw against the raised edge of the pulley; the bracket is secured with a gaff, which is lashed to the deck beam with a tackle. A wooden chain with fake weight is attached to this model. Scale 1:10 (estimate).
